For me it was switching from a car to a bike as my main source of transportation to work and back. You see I talk to a lot of people who become unmotivated from riding. They start off strong then fizzle out after a few months on the bike, they lose the dream you might say.
Today I was almost one of those people! Heavy rain all day long outside and if that was not enough I was watching my young kids all morning not being able to rest at all I was exhausted mentally. The time came for me to leave and it had stopped raining so I was in a hard spot to ride or not to ride. I decided to ride and had such a blast I almost kick myself for even giving not riding to work a thought! After cresting a few hills the sky turned so blue it hurt your eyes to gaze upon it. My mood was lifted my hunger was gone and I suddenly had the thirst for life reinstalled in my blood it was a truly uplifting experience.
No matter what might motivate you to ride if your having trouble getting started remember you will never regret working out on your bike. You will however look back in five years and say damn I wish I had stuck with that riding imagine how much better shape I'd be in by now.
